Showtime has released the trailer for the upcoming seventh season of the hit show Homeland, starring Claire Danes as intelligence operative Carrie Mathison. The trailer shows Carrie Mathison going rogue in order to tackle graft at the White House under the tyrannical administration of President Keane (Elizabeth Marvel). The gambit backfired, Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend) was killed in the process, and by the end of the season, Dar Adal had found himself in prison quoting Graham Green to Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin), who also was headed to a federal penitentiary.

The footage also features an Alex Jones-like conspiracy character Brett O'Keefe (played by Jake Weber) who was first introduced last season. "They've been calling me that for years", he went on to say.

The new season picks up after President Keane arrested 200 people from intelligence agencies without bringing charges against them.

When we last left "Homeland" at the end of season six, Carrie saw the President elect of the United States go against her word by arresting more than 200 members of the USA intelligence apparatus after an assassination attempt was made on her life.

Reports point out that season 7 will mark the show's penultimate outing. She has moved back to D.C. where she is residing with her sister Maggie (Amy Hargreaves).

But a premiere date for season 7, filmed in Richmond, has already been set for Sunday, Feb. 11 at 9 p.m.
