Crystal Palace and West Ham have also been linked although Wenger insisted on Tuesday that he has received no contact from the latter.

As per Sky Sports, West Ham are interested in bringing Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny to the London Stadium this month as manager David Moyes looks to strengthen his squad.

But despite showing glimpses of his potential, the 26-year-old never cemented his spot at Arsenal, with Granit Xhaka preferred in that defensive midfield role before Coquelin.

Wenger insisted Arsenal were yet to receive a formal bid from West Ham for Coquelin at his news conferences ahead of Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Chelsea. He only made 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season, including five in the Premier League.
