Filled with chatter about karate kicks and dance moves, the first clip of David Letterman's exclusive interview with former president Barack Obama was released Wednesday afternoon by Netflix, in advance of its Friday premiere.

David Letterman is back, y'all.

In the 52-second video, Obama recounts a self-deprecating experience of dancing with Prince, months before the singer died in 2016. When the Grammy victor invited his daughter to the floor to dance, Obama says he was "surprised" that Sasha pulled him up with her. "Sasha pulls me up, which surprises me she always mocks my dancing".

The former president self-deprecatingly talks about his dancing "dad moves" in sharing an anecdote involving Prince, explaining how he has to be careful to "stay in the pocket" instead of pushing it a little too much. Because I think everybody in here knows dads who get out of the pocket.

Obama says he uses his "dad moves". "And they're trying stuff that they can't really pull off".

"You've got to stay in the pocket", he said, likening a bad dancer's "safe space" to a comfort zone for a quarterback.

Friday's launch of "My First Guest" is the first of six monthly Letterman interview Netflix specials this year. Subsequent episodes feature an influential list of guests, including Jay-Z, Tina Fey, and George Clooney.

Produced by RadicalMedia and Letterman's Worldwide Pants, Incorporated, for Netflix, each 60-minute episode of My Next Guest is centered around one extraordinary figure whom Dave finds fascinating.
