Circuit City is set to announce official company relaunch at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Monday January 8th at 3:00 PM PST during a special press event.

Fortune reported that Circuit City's plans call for kiosks and store-within-a-store concepts and eventually its own showrooms. The company closed its last store in 2009.

A website will roll out February 15, Circuit City announced at 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week.

Shmoel, per Twice.com, acquired the Circuit City brand from Systemax in 2015.

Shmoel told his audience at CES that Circuit City's revamped website will include virtual vignettes, search by photo, augmented reality and real-time tech support via video chat, among other experiential features, Twice said. Circuit City is also partnering with IBM Watson commerce, which incorporates artificial intelligence "and other new retail technologies".

While many brick-and-mortar retail shops continue to close their doors due to declining sales, one former electronics giant that went out of business nearly a decade ago is staging a comeback. "The IBM web commerce platform will allow Circuit City to expand offerings for a personalized shopping experience and enhance the product discovery journey", the company said.

Fans of the electronics store "where service is state of the art" will soon get to shop at Circuit City once again.
