Reports say a glitch caused some online bill payments to be processed twice.
Many Wells Fargo customers got a terrifying shock after finding their checking accounts drained due to a series of errors by the embattled bank. In some cases, accounts were left short several hundred dollars.

"The issue was corrected overnight, and customers should now see their correct balances", Ahenkora said.
Wells Fargo customers who discovered the errors flooded customer service phone lines, some waiting over an hour to speak to someone. A spokes person said, "Any fees or charges that may have been incurred as a result of this error will be taken care of. You take over $1500 of my hard earned money I'm supposed to be ok with a simple "sorry"?!"
Hilary O'Byrne, a communications manager at Wells Fargo, confirmed in a statement to the Statesman that some people experienced an incorrect transaction. That is triggering overdraft protection fees.
