In addition to Nevada and San Jose State being announced on Monday, Penn State also revealed its second 2024 non-conference opponent: Bowling Green.
Nevada will visit Beaver Stadium on September 5, 2020 for the season opener.
Penn State will be meeting all three of its 2020 non-conference foes for the first time in its history. Pitt defeated Penn State by a score of 42-39, but Penn State reigned victorious in the 2017 game. The Penn State men's track & field team received a top-10 ranking in the latest top-25 of the National Computer Rankings, as released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). That year, they will travel to West Virginia for a non-conference game and their season opener. The Nittany Lions face Virginia Tech in 2020 and 2025, Auburn in 2021 and 2022 and West Virginia in 2023 and 2024.
On September 12, 2020 the Nittany Lions will head to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies for the first time ever.
The Spartans, who went 0-7 on the road this season, will play five games in the Eastern Time Zone from 2019-2021: at Army in 2019 and 2021, at Central Michigan and Penn State in 2020 and at Georgia in 2021.
