Xiaomi Mi TV 4A series launched in India

Xiaomi Mi TV 4A will be available on Flipkart

We spent some time with the device and here is what we think of it.

Television brand Vu launched its first Android Nougat-based smart TV in India. The 49-inch model comes with a price tag of Rs 46,999, while the third variant of the 43-inch screen comes with a price tag of Rs 36,999.

With this, Vu is all set to challenge the No.1 disruptor in India. Saraf further stated that Vu counts itself among industry leaders such as Sony, Samsung, LG, and Panasonic. After this, Mi TV 4A flash sales will be held every Tuesdays and Fridays in India. Similar to the Chinese brand's offerings, VU has also introduced Smart TVs with Android integration.

Just like the Mi TV 4, the Mi TV 4A will also support nearly every prominent set-top box that's available in India like Tata Sky and Dish TV, down to even those that are offered by local players like Hathway and Siti cable. Do check back with us for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi TV 4 review, where we will see exactly how large a shadow it casts over the rest of the competition. However, it is important to note that in both the TVs, the power button is at the bottom, which is kind of odd.

Connectivity options on the 43-inch Mi TV 4A take in Wi-Fi, three HDMI (one ARC) ports, three USB 2.0 ports, one Ethernet port, one AV component port, one S/PDIF audio port, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack port. The TVs arrives with 8GB of internal storage.

We like the fact that these are some of the most affordable Android TVs out there, but that isn't a good enough reason.

The Vu Official Android TV 55-inch model has been priced at Rs 55,999. Both display panels have a 178-degree viewing angle and 60Hz refresh rate.

They are all powered by a quad-core processor with 2.5GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. "We will also move towards on demand content", said Ajay Yadav, Vice President at Flipkart.

The hardware seems to be decent, but it is the software that adds some brownie points.

The new Android TV series runs on Android 7.0 Smart OS and features in-built Google apps and the Play store along with Youtube and Netflix. The user interface is quite smooth and easy to navigate. The company is working with various content creators for the various TV Shows. Other in-built apps include Facebook, Hotstar, ALT Balaji and Sony Liv. This will allow you to mirror content from most Android devices to the television without the additional cost of a Google Chromecast.

Remote controls and Sound works fine! The TV boast different sound mode including Rock, Pop, Live, Dance, Techno and more. It also supports Dolby and DTS audio technologies. The 11-button voice remote comes with Bluetooth connectivity support, while the second remote comes with IR-based connectivity support.

The distinct features of these TVs are their ActiVoice feature. It is also known as a connected TV or a hybrid TV. Vu Android 4K UHD is available in 43, 49 and 55 inches screen size option. Both the Mi TV 4A models will go on sale via Flipkart,, and Mi Home stores for the first time on Tuesday, with the sale set for 12pm IST.
