Danny Boyle Confirms Plans to Direct James Bond 25

If all goes according to plan, Danny Boyle will be directing Daniel Craig in his last film in the Bond franchise, now known as Bond 25.

Boyle went on to reveal who he is working on the screenplay with - none other than writer John Hodge.

That is all still the case.

"We are working on a script right now", he said.

"It all depends on that really", Boyle said.

"We're working on a script at the moment, and we'll see what happens". We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. "But we are working on them both right now". You can also trust me when I say I'm pretty pumped up about all this. Boyle is now working on Richard Curtis' (Love Actually) untitled comedy-musical film, which will be his next project in the pipeline.

Daniel Craig is believed to be returning for his final appearance as 007 in the as yet untitled film - and it looks like we finally have a director.

Craig, however, will take the title of most consecutive years being James Bond after the film's release at 13, just one ahead of the late Roger Moore.

Boyle is perhaps best known for bringing Irvine Welsh's seminal novel to the big screen, along with directing cult classics Shallow Grave, 28 Days Later and recent hits 127 Hours and Steve Jobs.

MGM had no comment for this story. And it all depends on how it turns out.

The Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting director confirmed the news this afternoon, and spoke to Metro about how progress is coming along.

The 25th James Bond film is set to hit US theaters on November 8, 2019 with a traditional earlier release in the United Kingdom and rest of the world.
