Eagles, Vikings to kick off 2018 National Football League season

But both teams may have a different man at the most important position on the field in the NFC Championship Game rematch.

After the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New England Patriots to earn their first Super Bowl victory ever, it was nearly assured they would host the league's inaugural game of the 2018 season. The last two seasons of Cousins against Philadelphia, against Jim Schwartz's defense, should be especially relevant to the game plan on both sides.

In their NFC Championship matchup last season, the Eagles had zero trouble in defeating Minnesota by a final score of 38-7. This will be the first time Minnesota has played in the kickoff game since 2010 when they took on the New Orleans Saints.

Minnesota will play at Philadelphia in the National Football League opener on Thursday, Sept. 6, according to report Monday by sportscaster Howard Eskin, an Eagles sideline reporter. They of course went on the win Super Bowl LII, in the Vikings' home stadium, with an MVP performance from Nick Foles. Cousins, who also started one game opposite the Eagles in 2014, is 4-3 against the franchise so far.
