Hulu's adaptation of The Handmaid's Tale is leaving behind the existing narrative of the novel it's based on and moving into uncharted territory. In fact, we've now watched it multiple times trying to glean some answers to the following pressing questions: Who is the Commander (Joseph Fiennes) threatening to shoot in the woods? Emily (Alexis Bledel) and Janine (Madeline Brewer) are still very much alive, but undergoing brutal punishment at the Colonies. And June is just trying to get by, torn between wanting to find her daughter and wanting to protect her new child, who Gilead spy and father-to-be Nick Blaine promises to protect. Moira is protesting Gilead's tyrannical rule. Will Mrs. Waterford (Yvonne Strahovski) become a more important figure in the movement? Praise be. The Handmaid's Tale returns to Hulu on April. 25.
