Joey Barton has been quoted as saying by The Burnley Express that Burnley will win against Everton at home in the Premier League this weekend. Striker Wood, meanwhile may have to settle for a place on the bench behind Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes.

Sean Dyche has done a fantastic job with his squad this season.

Everton have a number of injury woes, with Eliaquim Mangala, Ramiro Funes Mori and James McCarthy out, although they could have Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman back after injuries.

The Argentina global has been out of the Everton first-team with a serious knee injury since 2017, however, he has been involved in a number of developmental team matches to help with his fitness and rehabilitation.

The opening few months were played to a backdrop of Burnley ceding possession and shots to the opposition yet more often than not, securing a positive result.

Up front, Oumar Niasse, Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are set to battle it out for the lone striking berth in Allardyce's usual 4-3-3 formation.

The game is being shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League with coverage starting at 11.30am. I am not one for making too many excuses. Our challenge is being Burnley in the Premier League. They are good players and we have to be wary of them.

In the last 53 games in which Burnley fell behind they had failed to win but there was a determination and positive intent to Dyche's side on Saturday, despite a recent lack of victories.

"I really enjoy those types of games and, hopefully, we can get on top of them and our quality can shine through". But it needs to change very quickly.

"They've got good enough players to play that way, it's not like they've not got good enough players that are not good on the ball".

"He will believe in what he does for the right reasons because his success over a number of years speaks volumes".

Though we all want this season to end, those points don't win themselves and Everton need to get themselves to a decent total before they can start to plan for next year.
