Netflix App yet to come on Nintendo Switch

GameMaker Studio 2 adds Nintendo Switch support

Would you buy a Switch Joy Con that has its own screen?

If your Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet, your console will download the update automatically. The switch still doesn't have Netflix app for some reason.

Because the Switch offers both traditional home console and handheld play, it seems like it would be the flawless media player. We're working hard to ensure the Nintendo Switch version of GameMaker Studio 2 retains the already excellent functionality of the engine, and we are committed to supporting developers and studios who are keen to make the jump to Nintendo's record-breaking console. Imagine: it could be great for watching movies during the weekend - just pop it in its dock and get the popcorn ready - or catching up on the latest crime drama during long commutes.

Netflix, which is the most popular streaming app in the world make the user scratch their head as the app is not available in the Switch.

Now, Scott Mirer, Netflix's vice president of Device Partner Ecosystem, has shared some more details during a press Q&A panel in Silicon Valley on why the company has yet to strike a deal with Nintendo.

Mirer said in a tweet in January that, Netflix account is constantly exploring the opportunities with Nintendo for the Streaming in Switch.

"In the case of the Switch, they [Nintendo] were very focused at launch not on video-use cases, but on gaming cases, video was not a priority for them". It is not hard to create a Netflix app for the switch. Nintendo has been hugely supportive of bringing independent releases to the Nintendo Switch console, and this partnership will mean even more wonderful games are released on the platform.
