Two From Southwest Oklahoma Shine on 'American Idol' Premiere

For a quick recap of the week, here are some of the highlights you just won't want to miss!

Michelle Sussett, 22, Miami: Originally from Venezuela, the super-energetic singer performed a song in Spanish and then turned some music on and forced the judges to get up and dance with her. Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Paula Abdul have been gone for some time, and we now have Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan as the judges.

It's possible they said no to hundreds of singers, but in two hours we saw exactly four noes - and Lionel turned into a hugging machine. After telling pieces of his heartbreaking story, Francisco sat down to perform an acoustic rendition of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely".

Brandon, a 21-year-old college student from Ashburn, VA, who now resides in Boston, MA, sang "Unaware" by Allen Stone and received three yeses from the judges. Luckily. producers kept Katy covered with a strategically placed American Idol logo.

Thaddeus, a 25-year-old pub server from Oklahoma City, OK, previously auditioned for Season 9 of American Idol but got cut during Hollywood Week. Katy dubs him the best male singer they've seen so far, and Brandon is going onto Hollywood. William Casanova, 26, is the next artist to audition, and he sings "A Song For You" for the judges.

And just like that Mara, a 15-year-old phenom from Galloway Township in Atlantic County, was on to Hollywood with her coveted Golden Ticket. He had the judges singing along with him, but there was no ticket for him. A Katy Perry kissThe judges discovered that Benjamin Glaze, 19, had never been kissed after Luke Bryan asked "Have you kissed a girl and liked it?" and he confessed that he never had.

"I'm the best dancer ever", Perry quipped. They complied, but Katy slipped and fell.

American Idol airs on ABC Sundays and Mondays at 8 p.m. EST.
