WrestleMania 35 Will Be at MetLife Stadium

WrestleMania is going from the Big Easy back to the Big Apple.

Wrestlemania 35 will take place at Metlife Stadium on Monday April 8 (NZT) next year.

SLAM! Wrestling photographer George Tahinos was in attendance today for the announcement at MetLife Stadium, and said that all the local news channels were there, making for over 100 media members. "Our motto right after we had it was, 'Bring it back'".

WWE has finally made it official: they are returning to New Jersey next year for WrestleMania 35. WWE will also host more than a dozen community outreach events, including hospital visits and Be a STAR bullying prevention rallies, created to give back to the local region. Ronda Rousey talked about how working for WWE and representing Rowdy Roddy Piper was her dream, while Cena expressed that WWE wasn't just his livelihood, but his life as well and that WrestleMania means everything for him.

"There is so much to celebrate in WrestleMania returning to NY and New Jersey in 2019, where we look forward to building upon all the awesome successes from 2013", said John Saboor, WWE's executive vice president of special events.

There is an opportunity to exceed that number with the additional NXT and SmackDown shows.

The Cenation Leader was in the main-event of WrestleMania 29 in 2013, which was the last WrestleMania event to be held at the MetLife Stadium.

SummerSlam has been at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the past three years and will be there again this year.

Other cities that were reportedly considered in the lead-up to host WrestleMania 35 included Philadelphia, Detroit, Toronto, Orlando, and Minneapolis, among others.

There is no telling what next year's event could bring in a return to MetLife 6 years later. The event has also been held in Florida and Texas a couple of times since it regularly became a football stadium show in 2007.
