The Ryzen 7 2700X that comes at Rs 24,490 (priced at $329 in US) has 8 cores, 16 threads and a base clock speed of 3.7GHz with a max boost to 4.3GHz. The top-of-the-line second generation AMD Ryzen CPU model is reportedly going to be priced at $329, which will be a relatively great bargain when compared to the 1700X and the 1800X, now priced at $399 and $499, respectively. There are four new 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen processors that have been refreshed in the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 lineup.
AMD is including a free Wraith cooler with every chip, due to popular demand. AMD plans on continuing its streak with the launch of the 2nd Generation Ryzen CPUs aimed at consumer market. All the 2nd gen models are expected to ship out starting Thursday, April 19, to pre-order customers as well as all the participating retailers that want to stock up on the new Ryzen CPUs. For the ones that AMD announced on Friday in a press release, two of them will have eight cores and 16 threads each, while the other two have six cores and 12 threads. Users who would not be using all the multi-threading capability of the new 2700 series could instead pick up one of the new Ryzen 5 2600 chips, instead. The base clock speed has been increased to 3.7 GHz from 3.6 GHz, while the boost speed has jumped from 4 GHz to 4.3 GHz.
The Ryzen 7 2700 and Ryzen 5 2600 in 8 core and 6 core configurations respectively will sell for Rs 24,490 and Rs 15,490. The processor has a 95 W TDP and can be cooled by the Wraith Spire cooler, included in the box. AMD's new Ryzen CPUs are now available for pre-order, will launch on April 19th, and even though the first reviews will go live on April 17th, it appears that the first third-party gaming benchmarks have surfaced. What's really interesting here is that at 1080p, the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X was able to come really close to the Intel i7 8700K.
