Ed Sheeran in Talks to Join Danny Boyle's Beatles-Themed Musical Comedy

Universal Pictures has announced that they will wide release the forthcoming untitled Danny Boyle musical comedy on Friday, September 13, 2019.

Sheeran has previously appeared in The Simpsons, Game of Thrones, Bridget Jones' Baby, Home and Away, and The Bastard Executioner. The news comes from the pages of the Daily Mail in the United Kingdom, who say that Sheeran is set to play the new comedy - tentatively titled All You Need Is Love.

According to The Daily Mail, Sheeran is in negotiations to appear in Boyle's upcoming music-themed comedy, which has been written by 'Love Actually's Richard Curtis. Lily James, Himesh Patel (BBC's EastEnders, Damned) and Kate McKinnon star in the new one, with Ed Sheeran also set to join. Sheeran also has experience contributing music to movies, writing and performing the original song "I See Fire" from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The Irish writer-director said last month that he's also been working on script for the 25th James Bond movie with plans to shoot the comedy first, followed by the 007 film at the end of the year.
