2018 NFL Draft: LSU CB Donte Jackson picked by the Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers can't seem to get enough of what's coming out of Maryland these days.

Donte Jackson is part of what is expected to be a big draft for LSU, joining the likes of running back Derrius Guice, wide receiver DJ Chark, edge rusher Arden Key and at least five other players who have the potential to be drafted this weekend.

The University of North Carolina linebacker was picked with the 234th overall selection in the draft. The three-year Tar Heel's season ended early last fall after a season-ending knee injury against Louisville in week two. He was clocked at 4.32 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the National Football League scouting combines.

Wilkins earned second-team All-SEC honors for his stellar senior season in 2017, which saw him finish the season ranked second in the SEC and 13th nationally at 6.5 yards per carry. He started 12 of 13 games and had 49 tackles, an interception and 10 pass breakups.

Wilkins, who previous year became the fifth Rebel to ever rush for 1,000 yards in a single season in 2017, was taken nearly exactly one round later near the end of the fifth round by the Indianapolis Colts at No. 169 overall (No. 32 in the round).

A track star by nature, Jackson returned kicks for the Tigers in 2015 and 2016 and returned a handful of punts as a freshman in 2015.
