The body of the girl, believed be in the age group of 9 to 11 years, was spotted lying in bushes in a cricket ground in the locality on April 6 by some passersby, who informed police.
Amidst the huge outrage in the country over high profile rape cases of Kathua and Unnao, India just witnessed yet another gruesome rape case with an 11 year-old minor raped and tortured to death.
In Kathua, an eight-year-old girl from the nomadic Bakerwal community had gone missing from near her house on January 10 and a week later, her body was found in the same area.
"The police are yet to identify the girl". Injury marks were also found on the victim's private parts, added authorities.

In Kathua, an eight-year-old girl was kidnapped, drugged and gang-raped for days before she was killed.
Police inspector BK Jhala said, "Even after eight days, the parents of the girl are yet to be identified. The victim's picture has been sent to the state police control room for identification process". The police have also announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for anyone providing information about the girl or her family, ANI reported.
Police have registered a case under sections 302 (Punishment for murder), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), and 376 (Punishment for rape), and under provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) against unidentified persons. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday assured the country that "no culprit will be spared" and such incidents could not be a part of a civilized the country.
"As a country, as a society we all are ashamed of it (rapes)", Modi said in his address while inaugurating the Ambedkar memorial in Delhi.
Similarly, a 17-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district alleged that she was gangraped by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his accomplices last year.
