Report: Woods commits to next week's Wells Fargo Championship, first start since Masters

Tiger Woods Commits to Play in Next Week's Wells Fargo Championship

Golf Central reported Thursday afternoon that Woods will be making his next start a week from today at the Wells Fargo Championship.

Woods, who has two top-10s and four top-25s this season, has never missed the cut at The Players. It was the site of last year's PGA Championship, which was won by Justin Thomas. He qualifies for this year's event, though, because he won the tournament in 2013, a year in which he won five times on the PGA Tour and took home PGA Tour Player of the Year honors. Woods was runner-up by one shot at the Valspar Championship.

The Wells Fargo is rolling out new attractions next week, including a concert, wine bar and special lounge for Wells Fargo customers.

And Wells Fargo Golf replied: "We are so excited to have our 2007 champion back to the Queen City!"

Tiger Woods will tee it up next week in Charlotte for the @WellsFargoGolf. The 14-time major victor lifted his second Players title in 2013.

Woods, 42, hasn't played since finishing T-32 at the Masters earlier this month.

Woods is now 50th in the FedEx Cup standings and is ranked 91st in the Official World Golf Ranking.
