The Black Shark, which seems to be Xiaomi's take on the Razer phone, comes with some high-end specs and some that have been exclusively packed in for gamers. That said, it's highly unlikely, that it would ever make its way outside of China anytime soon.
The handset's launch follows an investment made by Xiaomi in Black Shark Technology, a Chinese gaming company. The smartphone is meant for gaming, and comes with high-end specifications to make it one of the most powerful Android smartphones now available, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8GB of RAM and a 5.99-inch full-HD+ screen. Previous information from the TENAA listing has mentioned that the phone will be equipped with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage alongside 2910mAh battery. The storage space will be further expandable using a microSD card.
The phone boasts a 6-inch full-HD+ display with resolution of 1080×2160 pixels, brightness of 550 nits and aspect ratio of 18:9. It supports the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut standard. It will come with a dual rear camera of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX486 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 20-megapixel Sony IMX376 sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Both have an f/1.75 aperture.
The Black Shark itself is priced at CNY 2999 (approx Rs 31160) for the 6GB/64GB option and CNY 3499 (about Rs 36360) for the 8GB/128GB one. The phone charges over USB Type-C port. The Black Shark is an entirely new device with customized hardware to bring out the best gaming performance out of a handset. The phone, however does not have a headphone jack.

Most of the top Android smartphones are ready for intense gaming sessions but Xiaomi Black Shark is one of the few handsets that have been designed from scratch specifically for gaming.
The Black Shark phone is available to pre-order online now for about 557 US Dollars for a model with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is pretty cheap for a phone with a Snapdragon 845. As an introductory offer, the first 50,000 buyers will be eligible to get the Shark Gamepad free of cost. It goes on sale in China on April 20.
