The SpaceX CEO/Tesla co-founder and the musician (real name Claire Boucher) have been involved in a Twitter exchange recently - after Grimes beat Musk to making a joke about Artificial Intelligence and the character Rococo Basilisk. It turns out somebody had-Grimes, three years ago. "They both care for one another, but the timing just isn't right". Roko's Basilisk emerged from a forum post, which posited that any suitably powerful (and malevolent) artificial intelligence would be able to identify and torture anyone who was not active in its development.
Yet, even with all of that going on, Musk managed to find time to call his broker and do what many CEOs do when they want to make a public show of faith in their companies: He bought a bunch of Tesla stock. The singer is known for her albums namely Visions (2012) and Art Angels (2015).
The billionaire CEO has made no secret of being a Grimes fan in the past, having previously tweeted her Venus Fly video featuring Janelle Monáe, saying it was the "best music video art I've seen in a while". "Can finish [the album] fast and I have a deep well of shit this time, like sooooo many songs so after my album I'll be able to consistently release more music".More news: Hazard targets finishing league at top four
Grimes is a double major in psychology and philosophy, with minors in Russian and electro-acoustic. "Glad ur finally listening to cyberpunk speedwae hahaha", she responded. "Sounds great riding my cyborg", he wrote back.
Just last week they had another online in-joke.
According to the publication, Musk and Grimes bonded over a nerdy tweet and eventually began dating.
The pair will reportedly walk the red carpet at the swanky Met Gala in New York City on Monday afternoon.
