NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After a deflating Game 5 home loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, the Nashville Predators are down 3-2 and facing elimination in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Blake Wheeler had three assists, while Nikolaj Ehlers added two of his own. But his confidence hasn't wavered a bit.

Rinne (35) was pulled for the third time this post-season.

"I think it goes to another level", Morrissey said Friday of the desperation level. "The bottom line is team success".

The Penguins trail the Capitals 2-1 in their second-round series in part because they haven't gotten much offense beyond Guentzel, Crosby and Hornqvist, plus the goals that top line is giving up to Ovechkin and Kuznetsov.

This isn't the first time Subban has made a guarantee in the playoffs.

After the game Subban was more focused on his mistakes than his goal, or the crowd taunting him.

He isn't a finalist for the 2018 Calder Trophy, but count Jets forward Kyle Connor among the most talented players in the NHL's rookie class.

With the Jets leading 4-2, the Predators were hoping to get things going early in the third period, and Connor quickly made sure that wasn't going to happen.

The Predators came right back to tie the game just a few minutes later when Yannick Weber ripped a shot over Hellebuyck's shoulder for his first playoff goal since 2011.

Nashville veteran goaltender Pekka Rinne stopped 32 of 33 shots in Thursday's 2-1 Game 4 victory at Winnipeg to deadlock the series at 2-2.

"True to Winnipeg's winning spirit, we at Winnipeg Harvest are absolutely thrilled at the outpouring of support from True North Sports + Entertainment and our community", said Keren Taylor-Hughes, executive director, Winnipeg Harvest.

Monday evening pucks and a pair of teams from the Central Division square off as the Nashville Predators rumble with the Winnipeg Jets in game six of their best-of-seven series from Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Patrick Laine, perhaps awakened from his mini-slump with that final minute goal in game three, firing a wrister that bounced off Paul Stastny and in for a 1-0 lead.

Winnipeg spotted Nashville a 3-0 lead after the first period Tuesday but once they woke up, the Jets flexed their might. First, Connor scored off the rebound of a shot by Scheifele with 7:30 left for his first postseason goal, then Rinne lost his stick in a scrum in the crease.

"Your goal when you go on the road is to steal a game", Hellebuyck said.

But Scheifele put any thoughts of a comeback to bed 28 seconds into the third when he finished off a pass into the slot from Connor for his ninth after a great setup from the first-year winger. Hartman then took an interference penalty, and Perrault banged home his first off a lucky bounce to end Rinne's night at 6:23.

The Preds know the recipe to beating the Jets, but just like singing the anthem it's easier said than done. There's a certain freedom.

"It's a hard-on-the-puck game". Kyle Connor has great character and skill.
