Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has hinted that Blues forward Alvaro Morata will be staying at the club amid links with former club Juventus.

Danny Murphy has admitted that Alvaro Morata has been largely disappointing in his first season at Chelsea FC despite flashes of brilliance.

But former Blues fullback Mario Melchiot believes Conte is sending the wrong signals, telling talkSPORT: "If you don't play him you are nearly giving him an answer like: 'If I'm not playing why would I want to stay?'"

Afterwards, Conte said: "The only hope and intention was to keep our hopes alive and win the game". "To make rotation, it means playing with players like [Alvaro] Morata, Willian and [Andreas] Christensen, players who usually are in the lineup from the start". This is football and to speak one day, you have always risk'.

Chelsea's failure to pick up all three points brought to an end their four game winning running, their best run of form in 2018, and was a hammer blow to their hopes of finishing in the top four.

The pair were instrumental in Chelsea's 1-0 win over Liverpool on the weekend as Hazard tormented the Reds' defence with Giroud scoring the only goal of the game.

Juventus may not be such certs to sign Alvaro Morata after all, according to the latest reports from the United Kingdom. We tried with all of our strength to win but the result penalised our team a lot. For this reason, they wanted to defend very deep.

It's been a season to forget as they made a mess of retaining their title and they couldn't even sign off in style at Stamford Bridge, the meek 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town typifying their whole campaign inside 90 unexciting minutes.
