Last month "Rose acre farms" recalled more than 200-million eggs distributed from its North Carolina facility. As per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), around 35 people across nine states have fallen sick because of the virus and 11 victims have been treated in the hospitals. The eggs came from a Rose Acre facility in Hyde County, N.C.
Recalled eggs were sold in grocery stores and to restaurants under multiple brand names, including Coburn Farms, Country Daybreak, Crystal Farms, Food Lion, Glenview, Great Value, Nelms, Publix, Sunshine Farms, and Sunups.
The most infections were in NY (eight) and Virginia (eight), followed by Pennsylvania (six) and North Carolina (five). "This takes an average of two to four weeks".
The FDA is urging consumers to return or discard eggs from brands listed in the recall. No other information on the affected New Jerseyan was released. Customers are encouraged to check for a plant number of P-1065 on the cartons, or a plant number of P-1359D for the Publix and Sunups eggs.

It is not usually life-threatening, except in children and the elderly who have weaker immune systems. "Those will all be washed so you don't have cross contamination and then when you do use your eggs you're going to cook them very, very well".
The New Jersey case was reported in the first announcement about the outbreak on April 16.
Rose Acre Farms sued, and a few years later a federal judge ruled that the government had overstepped its boundaries and had to compensate the company for income lost as a result of regulations. When the agency's health inspectors did a site visit in March, they reportedly found over a dozen rodents crawling around, and also saw employees handle dirty equipment and touch their bodies without washing their hands afterward.
