Texas Children's Hospital in Houston retained fourth place while Washington, D.C.'s Children's National Medical Center leaped from ninth to fifth place. The annual survey of 118 qualifying pediatric medical centers was created to help families of children with complex and rare conditions find the best care.
According to the U.S. News & World Report, CHW is among the top 50 in Cancer, Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrine, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, and Pulmonary.
The NICU at Maynard Children's Hospital is the second largest specialized care unit of its kind in North Carolina with advanced equipment and medical specialists. The growth and support of the Fetal Care Center, along with the Teleneonatology Program generated a higher volume of newborns with complex medical and surgical conditions. It assessed patient safety, infection prevention and nurse staffing, alongside other factors. "All of Wisconsin should be proud to have access to some of the best pediatric care in the country".
