After all of the trouble Leonard has caused for the Spurs, they could both trade him to a place he would hate AND get some valuable assets in return.

That opens the door for a handful of teams in the Eastern Conference gunning for a star on the trade market, including the Cavs.

A separate report from The Athletic linked the Phoenix Suns to Leonard.

"The Cavs are one of several teams making calls to San Antonio about Kawhi Leonard", writes Pluto.

Working out a deal for Leonard would be a tough ask for Cleveland.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are Leonard's preferred destinations.

Leonard appeared in just nine games for the Spurs last season while dealing with a thigh injury and reportedly had a tense relationship with the team. Therefore, the Heat are not allowed to trade their 2019, 2020, or 2022 first-round pick because they already traded their 2018 and 2021 first-round selections to the Phoenix Suns in the trade that brought Dragic to Miami.

Still two weeks out from the start of free agency, the recent news surrounding Kawhi Leonard has already sent the National Basketball Association world into a tailspin.

But the Lakers' dreams got a little bigger over the weekend when it was reported that San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard wants out of the Lone Star State and wishes to head home to LA.

With two days remaining until the 2018 NBA Draft, rumors are continuing to swirl regarding a potential Kawhi Leonard trade from the San Antonio Spurs.

Multiple reports surfaced Friday that said Leonard no longer wants to play in San Antonio.

The 26-year-old Leonard, who has made the All-NBA First Team twice in his seven seasons, owns career numbers of 16.3 points per game and 6.2 rebounds.

It's also worth noting that the Spurs could take their time with this process and trade Leonard after the draft or even after the season starts.

That's where the Celtics come to play, the Celtics have much better to offer than the Lakers. A report surfaced over the weekend that said Phoenix would explore the possibility of trading the pick if they were blown away by an offer.
