Actor Vince Vaughn was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Manhattan Beach overnight, authorities said. Police say actor Vaughn was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and resisting arrest in a Southern California beach town.
Both men were uncooperative and, initially, refused to get out, police sources were quoted as saying.
His passenger is believed to have been booked for obstruction and public intoxication.
Both men posted bail and were released.
Vaughn faced an assault charge that was later dropped. CNN reports that Vaughn was stopped in Hermosa Beach outside of Los Angeles.

Vaughn was arrested back in 2001 for a pretty insane bar brawl that occurred in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Vaughn representatives have not made an official statement on the arrest.
The Illinois native was arrested in 2001 after a bar fight in North Carolina, where he was filming "Domestic Disturbance".
Sergeant Zins said he could not comment more on the arrest until prosecutors review the case and decide whether to file charges.
Vaughn is best known for his roles in "Swingers", "Wedding Crashers", and "Hacksaw Ridge".
