Lue saw the Cavaliers swept in the NBA Finals on their home court on Friday as the Golden State Warriors clinched a 4-0 series win and successfully defended the title with a 108-85 victory. Despite an unprecedented performance from LeBron throughout the 2017-2018 season, the Cavs came up short in all of their four NBA Finals games, leaving the Warriors to claim the title of NBA champions for the third time in four years.

Stephen Curry scored 37 points and Kevin Durant, the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player for the second year in a row, added 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the first finals triple double of his career. He finished his remarkable playoff run by scoring 23 points, pulling down seven rebounds and dishing off eight assists. James still shot 49% from the field over the last three games, but just 27% on three-point attempts with fewer than four attempts per game.

LeBron James walked into his final interview of the NBA Finals with one last surprise: A dark brace on his right hand, covering an injury he's hidden for a week. They overcame an 11-point deficit in Game 1 of this year's NBA Finals and rallied from 13 points down to beat the Cavs in Game 3 on Wednesday.

The Warriors had dominated the third quarter of games all season and Friday was no different.

In the end, what stood out was the burning desire to win shared by Kerr, Durant and Curry.

"That's how you know we're a great team, is when everybody's coming after us", Durant said. Two years, two titles, and two Finals MVPs for Durant later, and it's hard to argue that July 4th was a death knell for National Basketball Association championship competition. He buried 7 of 15, and Golden State connected on 14 of 38, including 9 of 17 en route to a 61-52 halftime advantage.

He can't be guarded now - and he wants to keep growing.

A disappointed James is widely expected to leave the Cavaliers this summer, for the second time.

You really get the feeling that the Cavaliers missed out on a chance to make this competitive series after they blew Game 1 so I'm not surprised that they're now 48 minutes from a series sweep.

"All of us together are just unselfish", said Warriors centre JaVale McGee.

"I remember sitting in this room three years ago and it seemed like a dream". Like I said, when you have a goal and you're able to accomplish that goal, it actually - for me personally, it made me even more hungry to continue to try to win championships, and I still want to be in championship mode.
