Fans can now find birthday cakes placed around the map with consumable slices next to them.
The patch notes presented the building material nerfs front and center, but if you were skimming the notes while looking for the new Compact SMG or more info on completing the birthday challenges, you'd be forgiven for misreading the part of the patch that dealt with building. Epic has long teased its players with promises of the game mode, which allows them to set their own rules so they can do pretty much whatever they want in the game without having to worry about things like staying alive. And, as you'd expect, Epic Games has prepared an in-game birthday event, with challenges that you have to complete for XP, Sprays, Emoticons, and Back Bling. According to the official patch notes, you'll now be able to switch teams within the game.

On top of that, the game's Save the World mode is getting a special birthday questline that unlocks the Birthday Brigade Ramirez Hero when you complete it.

While trying out the new weapon, Ninja put the sheer power and strength of the Compact SMG on display by mowing down the base of an enemy team en route to a Victory Royale.
Next, Slurp Juice got a major revamp and will now heals one hit point every 0.5 seconds, capping at up to 75 hit points (that's up from 25 before the update).
Eagle-eyed players will also notice that the Battlebus and Supply Drops have been decorated to celebrate the game.

Apart from this there is no proper description of the changes coming to the game right now. That leaves just the regular pistols still available as the game's only sidearms.
