George Clooney injured in bike accident

The Hollywood actor was taken to hospital after being involved in a traffic accident while driving his scooter on the island of Sardinia Italy

George Clooney injured in car accident, reports

New reports suggest George was "propelled over the auto he hit", according to TMZ.

The accident took place near the beach resort of Costa Corallina, local Tgr Rai Sardegna channel wrote on Twitter. The Money Monster star was going 60 miles per hour and thrown 20 feet in the air, TMZ reports and his rep confirms.

Pictures of the crash show the window of the auto smashed, which might be where George hit. Police said they have no information, and the hospital didn't respond to requests for comment.

Clooney is believed to have sustained a minor knee injury in the crash. Clooney was also seen being treated on the side of the road before being transported to a hospital. Fortunately, the legendary actor has been released from the hospital and is now recovering, and may even be returning to work within the week. According to the Cut, he did suffer from "a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm".

The hospital confirmed to NBC News that Clooney has already been discharged.

This isn't the first time Clooney has been involved in a motorcycle accident. According to China Daily, in 2007, Clooney and an ex-girlfriend (Sarah Larson) were injured when their motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Weehawken, New Jersey. Calls and emails to Clooney's spokesman weren't immediately returned.

It is reported that George was then x-rayed and seen to by a doctor, before being discharged the same morning and leaving the premises in a chauffeur driven auto.
