Isaiah Thomas Expresses Interest In Celtics Return

The last man picked in the 2011 National Basketball Association draft played for Malone in Sacramento during the 2013-14 season and averaged 20.3 points and 6.3 assists as the Kings went 28-54. He missed the end of the conference finals when the injury became too much to play through.

Isaiah Thomas has found a new home after spending last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. The injury has not had a great track record of successful recoveries in the National Basketball Association.

ESPN first reported Thomas's signing. It was only two seasons ago when Thomas was a legitimate MVP candidate, averaging a tick under 30 points per game for the top-seeded Celtics in the 2016-17 season. But questions remain regarding his long-term health.

Clearly frustrated by the lack of offers, he took to Instagram on Thursday to post a reminder about his accomplishments with the Celtics. One image showed him among the NBA's top scorers that season - Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard - with the caption, "So Quick to forget!" The deal, sources told Wojnarowski, is for the veteran minimum.

Thomas' one-year deal is essentially a "prove it" deal. According to ESPN, Thomas will come off the bench - a role in which he thrived in Boston. At 5-foot-9, odds are already stacked against Thomas on both sides of the court.

Now Thomas is healthy and hopes to re-capture his All-NBA form, reminding everyone that he's a dynamic scoring guard capable of leading a team like he did in Boston.
