Premier League giants Manchester United are reportedly ready to bid £50 million (R873 million) for an England worldwide who had an outstanding 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign.

Lovren and Kane are set to meet again in Moscow on Wednesday, less than nine months after the former was substituted in the first half as Liverpool were crushed by Tottenham at Wembley in the Premier League.

"From my point of view, people said I had a hard season but I don't agree", said the 29-year-old.

"Since I came in, maybe Dejan made three or four mistakes, two of them in the Tottenham game, maybe one in a Champions League game past year. People should recognise that I am also one of the best defenders in the world and not just talk nonsense".

Liverpool and Croatia centre-back Dejan Lovren believes he is one of the best defenders in the world after reaching the Champions League and World Cup final in one season. People are crying, they are happy in our country. "We know what it takes and in such moments you forget any fatigue you may feel", said the 29-year-old at Tuesday's eve-of-game press conference at Luzhniki Stadium. We will never forget this.

"But we enjoy to play against big teams, as we showed against Argentina, and have nothing to lose".

"[In Croatia] we went through a lot of s***, war, all these things and even now the situation is not the best".

"It was a tough first half".

Lovren says he remembers his mum took him and they went to the basement and can't remember how long they sat there. We couldn't control the ball or control situations.

Lovren also called for Croatia team-mate Luka Modric to receive the highest individual award in world football, the Ballon d'Or.

Speaking to beIN SPORTS, Lovren said: "Modric is not one of the best but the best player in the middle in the world and, if we win, he deserves this World Cup".
