Sales from Microsoft's Surface line increased 32 percent in its most recent quarter, but the series of tablets and laptops still lag behind market leader Apple's iPad and MacBook series (which has faced its own struggles).
The Surface Go doesn't feature radical changes from a design perspective at all. The new tablet weighs 1.15 pounds, far lighter than existing Surface products.
Nevertheless it's worthwhile taking a look at the Surface Go, as it indicates that Microsoft still views the small, cost-effective tablet space as having some merit. Do note that the Surface Go Signature Type Cover as well the Surface Pen will be sold separately for $99 each and do not come bundled with the Surface Go itself.
Powering the entry-level device is a 7th Gen Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor.
