Xiaomi, at an event in Spain, has announced the launch of its latest Android One smartphones, the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite. The smartphone has launched on 24th July globally in Madrid, Spain.

Out of the two phones, the Mi A2 is the higher-end device.

Both of the phones come with an Android One support, which works on Android Oreo (8.1) version. The camera is where the Xiaomi Mi A2 shines compared to its predecessor.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, on the other hand, comes with a Snapdragon 625 SoC, a 5.84-inch FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19:9, a 4000mAh battery, a dual camera setup with 12 and 5-megapixel sensors at the back and a front selfie camera with a 5-megapixel sensor. Whereas, the Mi A1 has a 1920 x 1080 px IPS LCD panel. If Xiaomi launches the Mi A2 Lite in India, then the phone might retail at a starting price of Rs 11,999 for the base variant with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. However, the Snapdragon 625 paired with a huge battery might actually be quite good. The primary camera has a 12 MP sensor with a f/1.75 aperture and another 20 MP sensor with a f/1.75 aperture. Xiaomi's AI Beautify 4.0 technology is also part of the package here, together with a 5500K LED flash and a 5megapixel front camera mounted behind an f/2.0 lens.

On the front of the Xiaomi Mi A2, there could be a 20-megapixel sensor with artificial intelligence (AI) backed features, including an AI Portrait mode. Pricing for the Mi A2 starts at €249 (around $290) for the 4GB/32GB variant, but it's more if you want the versions with more RAM and storage. The European pricing would make it one of the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered flagships on the market, although the Xiaomi Mi 8 is even cheaper in China. Entry-level, because, the price of the Mi A2 could be under the Rs. 15,000 price bracket.

"It gets a 5.99" Full HD+ display in an 18:9 aspect ratio and it's protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Xiaomi doesn't operate in the U.S., so it's unlikely the A2 or A2 Lite will show up on this side of the world. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset paired and is expected to offer a 4,000mAh battery. The teaser also hinted at a feature that will allow users to change focus between background and foreground, depending on your preference. There are two more variants of the device offering 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM+128GB internal storage, priced at Euro 279 (approximately Rs 22,500) and Euro 349 (approximately Rs 28,100) respectively.
