Jose Mourinho was unusually excited about playing Man United youngsters against Bayern Munich

Jerome Boateng may prefer a move to PSG over Manchester United according to reports.

German media outlet Kicker, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Manchester United are facing competition from League Cup runners up Arsenal and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the Daily Mirror, the Blues and the Red Devils are considering a deal that could see Brazil global Willian move to Old Trafford, with former Monaco starlet Anthony Martial going the other way.

Asked about the rumours surrounding Boateng, Bayern team-mate Ribery responded: 'I've been playing with Jerome for many years now.

"It will get worked out and I would hope Jose is part of that working it out because he is incredibly skilled and he's demonstrated he can do things".

Mourinho is keen to bolster United's attacking options ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline, with Inter Milan's Croatia star Ivan Perisic also reportedly a target.

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer added that Boateng "would be missed" if he left, while David Alaba echoed those remarks.

'We'd all be sad, ' said the Austrian.

The switch in number represents Rashford's third change in four seasons as a first-team player, first being handed 39 by Louis van Gaal in his debut year followed by the number 19 the following season.

It is impossible to keep Manchester United out of the news at the moment with a host of players linked with the club as we have already mentioned, whilst the speculation surrounding Paul Pogba to Barcelona continues to swirl.

A new centre half remains the priority and Mourinho is banking on Woodward delivering one in time for their opening game against Leicester on Friday night.
