Sarri admits Chelsea are underdogs ahead of Community Shield

Man City boss Pep Guardiola aims dig at Chelsea new boy Jorginho

GETTY Jorginho joined Chelsea over Man City

When Sarri's Napoli took on Man City in the Champions League last season, both sides scored in both games, with the English side winning 4-2 and 2-1. "I'm going to learn a lot to see him every weekend", said Guardiola. The traditional curtain raiser to the new season pits the previous year's Premier League champions against the FA Cup winners in a trophy match.

Chelsea will still be without Eden Hazard, their attacker-in-chief who is yet to return from his post-World Cup break. I saw three games [of Chelsea] in pre-season and he got it.

"But deals are deals, agents are agents and players are players, so I don't know what is going to happen".

City kick off their season against Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday when Guardiola will be without many of his first team, who have only just returned following the World Cup.

"I think he [Pep Guardiola] is the best coach in the world right now, or one of the best", he added. Chelsea is always a big rival, with Antonio Conte before and with Maurizio too.

The new Manager clearly wanted a former player to lead the way as he aimed to bring a new style of football to the Bridge and the 26-year-old looks the flawless conductor for the Sarri orchestra.

Cesc Fabregas may miss out due to a minor knee problem. We started two and a half weeks ago. The jury is still out on whether or not he can set up a defense, but that's where much of Everton's experience lies, so the idea appears to be to rely upon them outperforming expectations and finishing bang in the middle of the goals-conceded column, at which point a positive goal differential is actually possible (-14 last season).

Sarri did not say if permission had been granted, but he has made it clear that he is keen to keep the likes of Hazard and Willian at Stamford Bridge despite speculation over their futures. "Yes, I am confident that he will be staying with us..."

"Yes, we were close, but in the end Jorginho chose to stay with Sarri", Guardiola said.

City face Arsenal away on August 12 in a high-profile start to their Premier League title defence while Chelsea have an away trip to Huddersfield the previous day.
