Maurizio Sarri has revealed he has warned his Chelsea players about the dangers of worldwide breaks ahead of Saturday's clash against Cardiff City.

Despite Chelsea's fluency in attack, Sarri is aware the Stamford Bridge team must improve their defending. Sol Bamba, who played a part in three of the five goals, needlessly brought Willian down in the area and his Belgian team-mate stepped up and sent Etheridge the wrong way.

After the 4-1 win over Cardiff City in which Hazard scored a hat-trick, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri claimed the 27-year-old is capable of winning the Golden Boot and scoring 40 goals this season.

Hazard is already up to six goals in five games, a third of the way to matching his best tally at Chelsea in the 2016-17 season.

I don't want to go there and not have a shot on target, but we've got to have players at their best abilities to give them a game'. "Yes, I think so".

While Sarri's approach will see Hazard scoring many more goals it will take something away from his game.

The French World Cup victor proved the flawless foil for Belgian star Eden Hazard and the pair combined to drag the home side back from a goal down in the first half.

"I don't know about Hazard". But now I am changing my mind as maybe now he is the best in Europe'.

"You're still looking at Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Antoine Griezmann - and I don't think he's there yet". The Premier League leaders are also prepared to make an exception to their unwritten rule of not offering extensions that run longer than a year, instead handing him two more years over the current duration of his deal. He can have more energy in the last 25 metres.

"I told him he can score 40 goals", Sarri said.

"In characteristics they are different and it depends on the kind of match".

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah won the Golden Boot last season with 32 goals in the league, and scored 44 in all competitions. "We have a lot of freedom on the pitch, and at the moment when we try and do something it's coming off". Kanu and Babayaro were on the same Golden Eaglets team that won the 1993 Federation Internationale de Football Association U17 World Cup and were key members of the original Dream Team that won the gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
