Green Bay QB Rodgers working out with rehabbing players

Rodgers in rehab group at Packers' practice

Adams told reporters in the locker room Wednesday he suffered the injury going to the ground at the end of his 51-yard catch against the Chicago Bears in the season opener.

Instead, he did rehab work on the side and extensive exercises with the medical staff inside the stadium. Rodgers, however, plays arguably the most premier position on the roster and is a rather significant cornerstone to overall success.

Rodgers avoided questions about his knee injury on Tuesday and the team has still not made a decision on whether he'll play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, despite Rodgers saying Sunday after the Bears game he would play. "You're just taking it one day at a time". There were a couple throws in which Rodgers said he got a "jolt" of pain after putting weight on his left leg.

"Haven't even thought about that", Rodgers said when asked if he had confidence in Kizer if the backup needed to start.

Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday that Aaron Rodgers' status is day-to-day ahead of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field.

"I would say it's day by day", McCarthy said on Wednesday.

Rodgers guaranteed he wouldn't miss any time, but the Packers are keen on being cautious with the injury. The Packers began to run more pistol looks on offense as opposed to making Rodgers take snaps from under center and put more pressure on and possibly further strain his calf.

"When I saw him, you know, come back out I knew he would play, and I'll be honest with you, I didn't go around the house or call people and say: 'Oh this is bad news for Chicago'".

Wearing a brace could be an option, depending on how the quarterback feels later in the week.
