Backing up a bit, Nintendo also detailed its upcoming Nintendo Switch Online service, which launches in September for $20 per year.

"With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can play enhanced NES games the way they're meant to be played - using Nintendo Entertainment System-style controllers!" reads a Nintendo webpage for the new product.

The controllers will sell for $59.99 for a set of two, and will be available to pre-order on Nintendo's website starting on September 18. But we do know that the service will enable online play, cloud game saving and more.

Nintendo Switch Online pricing plans in Canada will start at $4.99 per month.

Nintendo were forced to postpone last week's Nintendo Direct livestream because a devastating natural disaster hit Japan, but now the gaming experts have set a new date for the show. Switch Direct also will enable owners of current-release games like Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Mario Tennis Aces to go online for cooperative gameplay with other subscribers worldwide. You can sign-up for a 7-day free trial from Nintendo #eShop at launch! Both have offered online services for years, but at a much costlier price.

Prior to this change, it is important to confirm that your Nintendo Account or your child's Nintendo Account is linked to the correct user.
