Police say the building's first floor collapsed into the basement while the party goers were dancing

Dozens of people have been hospitalized after they fell several feet when the floor of an apartment building collapsed during a party near Clemson University in SC.

The apartment complex is three miles northeast of Clemson University.

Woodlands Property Management President Tal Slann told CNN that people fell through the floor into the basement.

Larissa Stone, a sophomore at Clemson, told the Anderson Independent Mail: "Everyone was jumping". "Everyone was trying to climb out".

"They weren't hurt at all but other people were crying, bleeding, it was just a shocking moment for everyone". I had blood on my sneakers.

About 30 people ended up being taken to the hospital for various injuries and issues related to the fall, but thankfully, no deaths.

He said thirty people were transported to three area hospitals.

This party resulted in a collapse of the floor structure in front of the fireplace at the clubhouse.

"By the time I had put one foot out the door, I felt that something was weird and that's when everyone just collapsed and the guy behind me disappeared", Raven Guerra, 20, told ABC News.

'It was a lot to take in'. I can tell you there was a floor collapse.

No deaths were reported, but police said some of the injured had broken bones.

Slann sent residents of The Woodlands an email saying the floor in front of the clubhouse fireplace had collapsed during a party. The Clubhouse and pool area is OFF LIMITS to all.
