Republican Marsha Blackburn Wins Tennessee Senate Seat

BLACKBURN TAKES TENNESSEE: GOP Candidate Defeats Democrat Phil Bredesen

Blackburn, who will become the first female USA senator in Tennessee history after projections showed she will defeat Democratic former Gov. Phil Bredesen, was scorned by Swift last month when the pop star announced she would be supporting Bredesen.

Pop superstar Taylor Swift even broke her political silence for the Tennessee contest when she went on Instagram to endorse Bredesen and encourage people to vote.

Laura Ingraham is rubbing it in Taylor Swift's face after the candidate the singer backed for the United States Senate lost his race in Tennessee.

Blackburn, a Trump loyalist and eight-term congresswoman who espoused deeply conservative values, beat former Gov. Phil Bredesen (D), who campaigned as a moderate who would work with Trump on some issues.

Tennessee Republicans had a good night, clinching both of the marquee statewide races and further dimming Democrats' hopes of getting control of the U.S. Senate.

"Her voting record in Congress appalls and terrifies me". I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country. The September fight to confirm Kavanaugh significantly boosted Blackburn, who took her first lead in the RealClearPolitics polling average in early October.

'In the past I've been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now, ' she wrote.

First elected to the House in 2002, Blackburn aligned with the tea party movement and regularly appeared on Fox News. "I will stand with President Trump". "I know the left calls me a wingnut, or a knuckle-dragging conservative", she told voters.
